Tell your state legislators to support 3 public interest bills

The 2023-24 MA legislative session just launched several weeks ago. Thousands of bills are filed, only a few hundred make it across the finish line. Help get MASSPIRG's priority bills on the action list by asking your state representative and state senator to cosponsor our bills.

Please consider co-sponsoring MASSPIRG's priority bills, all of which aim to preserve the environment, protect consumers, and advance better and cleaner transportation for all.

Bigger, better Bottle Bill: The bottle bill is the most effective recycling tool we have, but it's more than 40 years old now. We need a deposit on water bottles and other beverages that weren't on the market in the 80's when the law passed. We also need to increase the deposit from a nickel to a dime.

Right to Repair: Thousands of small electronics get tossed everyday because manufacturers are blocking us from the information and tools we need to repair our phones, tablets, and other devices. We need the Right to Repair our stuff.

Ban Toxic PFAS: We are exposed to PFAS "forever" chemicals -- which are linked to cancer and other illnesses -- in water, food, and consumer products. We're working to stop the use of PFAS in consumer products, clean up contamination in our water and communities, and to hold industry accountable for damage they have caused.
