Take Action to Support Regional Public Transit Across Massachusetts

Massachusetts needs strong, statewide public transportation. It's essential for mobility and economic opportunity; to reduce congestion and protect our climate, air quality and health; and to encourage strong and vibrant communities.

The fifteen Regional Transit Authorities, which provide public transportation outside of metro Boston, are lifelines for many in Massachusetts who do not own cars. RTAs serve employers whose workforces needs transit; RTAs are essential for connecting students with educational institutions; and they are vital for health and wellness. Good public transportation is also essential to lowering carbon emissions.

But our RTAs have been under-funded for years. To support a transportation system that meets our modern needs, we need to do more to support the RTAs. Send a message to your State Senator during budget deliberations to say that you support greater investment in public transportation for improved and expanded service throughout the Commonwealth.
