Support Reducing Plastic Pollution

Did you know that the average single use plastic bag is used for 6 minutes, but stays in the environment for hundreds of years? Nothing we use for a few minutes should be allowed to contaminate our oceans and rivers and threaten the health of humans and wildlife for centuries. Because so much of our plastic pollution comes from single-use items, the bill to ban single use plastic bags in Massachusetts is an important step towards reducing plastic pollution.

More than 90 cities and towns in Massachusetts have already passed similar policies. It's way past time for the Commonwealth to have a law which will reduce plastic pollution.

Please send a message to your state representative and senator today, and ask them to contact the Joint Committee on the Environment and Natural Resources and move this bill forward.
