Tell the EPA: Don't let Big Ag silence scientists
Just as the Environmental Protection Agency was set to hold hearings on the safety of glyphosate -- the active ingredient in the weed-killer Roundup -- the hearings were postponed after Monsanto's trade group took exception to two of the scientists who were to serve on the EPA panel.
Now, the hearings have been rescheduled and one of those scientists has been removed from the panel, even though he is considered an international expert with decades of experience.
The review of glyphosate should be based on independent science, not political pressure from a powerful industry group. Send the EPA a message now.
