Tell Your Representative: Stand Up for Voter Protections
Last week, Wisconsin residents left their homes and headed to the polls only to find hours-long lines and ID restrictions that turned away eligible voters. This voting debacle comes less than a month after similar failures left Arizona voters standing in line at the polls for up to five hours.
Your ability to vote shouldn't be contingent on where you live. Until recently, the Voting Rights Act (VRA) protected against polling cuts and voter access restrictions by requiring some states to receive federal approval before making big election changes. In 2013, the Supreme Court gutted that law, deciding it was out of date.
Our solution is simple: Let's update the VRA. Tell your representative to take action now.
